Utah State Fairgrounds EMC & Cabinet
A high-traffic public venue needed one display that could carry a year of changing events, from the State Fair to weekend rodeos, without a sign crew on call.
The Challenge
The problem: a different event every week
A fairgrounds calendar changes constantly, and the previous static signage could not keep up. Event promoters wanted their name on the street the week they were in the building, and venue staff needed to do it themselves in minutes, from an office, without calling a contractor.
The Solution
What we built
A full-colour EMC set into a purpose-built aluminium cabinet sized to the approved sign envelope, mounted at the primary vehicular approach. Venue staff schedule the whole season in one sitting and edit individual days as bookings firm up. Automatic photocell dimming keeps the display compliant with Salt Lake City's night-time output limits without anyone thinking about it.
- Custom aluminium cabinet fabricated to the approved sign envelope
- Full-colour display with automatic photocell dimming for city compliance
- Season-ahead scheduling operated entirely by venue staff
- Stamped structural and electrical package submitted through Salt Lake City review
- Single-day crane set with our own fleet
